KATSAROS DISTILLERY keeps the brunt of a heavy history of 160 years.
It is a four generations family run located in Tyrnavos. It is the oldest distillery of ouzo in Greece and the world, since there was born Ouzo, this national product. Here we continue to distill Ouzo as then, with the same recipe since 1856.
Our proprietary facilities 6.000m2 are equipped with sophisticated means, that combine tradition with technology.
Ouzo is a Greek traditional strong alcoholic drink with anise flavor.
Ouzo is drunk mixed with water or ice and then gets a milky white color.
During the distillation process, 14 types of aromatic seeds and spices are added, for which the original recipe is hidden, some of them are anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, mixed with crystal clear water of Mount Olympus, it gives a full and natural taste.
Since 2006, Ouzo has been a product with a protected geographical origin.
